Dr. Liz Rodwell

Dr Liz Rodwell, wearing a red shirt and glasses with short grey hair

Dr. Rodwell is an Assistant Professor of Digital Media at the University of Houston and founder of the UH UX Lab. Liz studies the experts who create and use technology in professional environments with a focus on how technology shapes our social worlds. She is a media/tech anthropologist and UX researcher currently working on conversational UX, conversation design, and conversational AI, and is the author of the book Push the Button: Interactive Television and Collaborative Journalism in Japan

Lab Managers (Spring 2025):

	Arshiya Yasin Arshiya is a Digital Media major and a teaching assistant and lab manager in the UX Lab. She is interested in the intersection of UX and the digital humanities, with particular interest in interactive storytelling, education technology, and human-computer interaction in diverse cultural contexts.
	Kathlyn Le Kathlyn is a Digital Media major in her third year, serving as a teaching assistant and lab manager at the UX Lab. She is passionate about all things UX, particularly in interactive storytelling and design elements.
	Aatika Somani Aatika will be completing a major in Digital Media, as well as a double minor in Studio Arts and Technological Leadership & Innovation Management. Her personal interests lie in UX Research and Design of new and emerging technologies.
	Helen Chagolla Helen is a Digital Media major and currently serves as a lab manager and research assistant at the UX lab at the University of Houston. Passionate about UX, she is dedicated to creating meaningful and impactful user experiences.
